It had rained all day, it didn’t look as though it was going
to stop. Yet the clouds lifted and I built a small bonfire, hoping that even if
it didn’t stay nice out that I would at least get the scent of a fire in the
air.
I threw a party in the family’s 100+ year old barn. The
normally dark and quite structure filled up with life and cheer for a night. I
doubt there has been anything like that in there since the raising of the barn
itself.
I stood out on the damp grass and listened to the shouts and
laughing emitting from the inside.
“It needs to be like this more often,” I thought to myself.
